Baptism Certificate: A Precious Souvenir

Baptism certificate: The first document that proves to others who we are legally is a birth certificate. The first document that proves to others who we are as to faith, is our Baptism Certificate. Both are equally important documents but the Baptism Certificate becomes more a a precious souvenir to us as we get older. I have my Baptism Certificate along with my birth certificate. I know by one document that I was a legally registered birth and it indicates my name and my parents' names. By the other certificate I know that I was baptized in the church. That piece of paper has the signatures of my parents and my godmother and godfather. All of those four people are deceased now, but I will always have that piece of paper and be able to see their signatures. I also know that those four people loved me and because of their faith I was baptized in the same faith. It locks and joins us all together forever. When I grew up and and planned my wedding there were certain documents that I needed to provide to the church. One document was my Baptism Certificate. It is much more than just a precious souvenir, it is a document that proves my faith and allowed me to marry in the church of my choice. Some souvenirs you may chose to leave out on display on a coffee table or bookcase. Others, such as a Baptism Certificate you may chose to frame and hang in on the wall in a place of honor. You can also put your Baptism Certificate along with all your other baby souvenirs in a baby book that you will have and be able to look at and think about as you go through life. Some other people may chose to do as I have done and keep my Baptism Certificate in a safe where I have it if I need it and it is also protected from fire and theft. I know where it is if I have a need to look at it and think of those who signed it. No matter how you chose to keep your Baptism Certificate, remember that it is a souvenir of your life and you should treasure it..
